What is Government Grant?

A grant is an award, or transfer of money, to a business or to an individual, given without compensation, and for a specific purpose. Federal Government and State Government Grants may be for anything from small business start-up grants to educational grants for college tuition and related expenses. Government grants are awarded after an application process. One of the skills required for obtaining grant money is being effective in grant application writing.
