Legal Terms Immunity — Immunity information: A promise made to a defendant in a criminal law setting such that no further prosecution will be done against said defendant in exchange for cooperation or testimony against others. Further, if granted immunity, the defendant may be required to give testimony that even incriminates himself, under the theory prosecution cannot result because of the immunity grant.
