What is colinearity?

colinearity — The one to one linear correspondence between the order of codons in a coding sequence and the order of amino acids in the protein encoded. A linear map of mutation sites within a gene corresponds to the linear location of amino acid substitutions within the polypeptide encoded by that gene.
