What is homeo-domain?

homeo-domain — An approximately sixty-amino acid protein domain translated from the homeo-box. A highly conserved family of protein domain sequences 60 amino acids in length found within a large number of transcription factors that can form a helix-turn-helix structure and bind DNA in a sequence-specific manner.
