What is Surround Sound?

Surround Sound — An audio reproduction system using four or more speakers to simulate the three-dimensional effect of a live music performance or a cinematic environment. With surround sound, the phase of the original sound is delayed from a two-channel source, creating a surround effect and allowing you to simulate stereo sound even from a monaural source.
