- ELECTROLYSIS
- Breaking a chemical compound down into its elements by passing a direct current through it. Electrolysis of water, for example, produces hydrogen and oxygen.
- ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS (EMF)
- Ordinary every day use of electricity produces magnetic and electric fields. These 60 Hertz fields (fields that go back and forth 60 times a second) are associated with electrical appliances, power lines and wiring in buildings.
- Electromagnetic Interaction
- The interaction due to electric charge; this includes magnetic interactions.
- electromagnetic radiation
- the various forms of light; includes radio waves, infrared light, visible light, ultraviolet light, x rays, and gamma rays

- the spectrum encompassing the entire range of electromagnetic radiation (light)
- electron
- a subatomic particle with a negative electric charge; electrons surround the atomic nucleus and are much less massive than protons or neutrons

- electronic music
- Music in which some or all of the sounds are produced by electronic generators. embellishment An ornamental addition to a simpler melody.
- Electronic Resume
- A resume that is sent to potential employers electronically, either via e-mail, through forms designed to accept your CV on the employer's website or via job search boards. Also known as 'E-Resume'

- electrophoresis
- A technique for separating the components of a mixture of charged molecules (proteins, DNAs, or RNAs) in an electric field within a gel or other support. The movement of electrically charged molecules in an electric field often resulting in their separation.
- electroporation
- A technique for transfecting cells by the application of a high-voltage electric pulse.
- Electroweak Interaction
- in the Standard Model, electromagnetic and weak interactions are related (unified); physicists use the term electroweak to encompass both of them.
- ELEMENT
- A substance consisting entirely of atoms of the same atomic number.

- a fundamental unit of matter; consists of a fixed number of protons, although the number of neutrons and electrons can vary

- The height above sea level (altitude); 2) A geometrical projection, such as a building, on a plane perpendicular to the horizon.
- Elevator Speech
- A short, 15-30 second speech used by job seekers at career fairs, networking events and other similar events. These 'elevator speeches' are advertisements and should include the job seeker's key skills and outline what makes him unique.

- A kind of deductible or waiting period usually found in disability policies. It is counted in days from the beginning of the illness or injury.

- A type of cutting style that is usually rectangular, but sometimes square, with rows of step cuts along the edges and at the corners. Step cuts are often found in diamonds.

- Equipment designed to cool the core of a nuclear reactor in the event of a complete loss of the coolant.
- EMINENT DOMAIN
- The right of a government or municipal quasi-public body to acquire property for public use through a court action called condemnation, in which the court decides that the use is a public use and determines the compensation to be paid to the owner.

- The maximum amount of a pollutant legally permitted to be discharged from a single source.

- The property of emitting radiation; possessed by all materials to a varying extent.
- EMITTANCE
- The emissivity of a material, expressed as a fraction. Emittance values range from 0.05 for brightly polished metals to 0.96 for flat black paint.

- Employee
- A person working under a contract of employment in order to execute certain duties in return for a salary and/or other benefits.
- EMPLOYEE
- Someone who works as a direct employee of an employer and has employee status. The employer is obligated to withhold income taxes and social security taxes from the compensation of employees. See also independent contractor.

- EMPLOYER S LIABILITY

- EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
- A document evidencing formal employment between employer and employee or between principal and agent. In the real estate business this generally takes the form of a listing agreement or management agreement.

- The times a job seeker has been unemployed, especially those gaps that appear between jobs. Employers are not keen on unexplained gaps in a job seeker's employment history so such gaps should always be clearly explained in a CV.

- Anything, such as a mortgage, tax, or judgment lien, an easement, a restriction on the use of the land or an outstanding dower right that may diminish the value or use and enjoyment of a property.
